"Mon amour, mon ami"

I have Tuesdayitis again.

I have nothing to blog about, except that I watched 8 femmes last night and it was awesome in the same was Clue is awesome except for being terribly French instead of terribly English. It also had some damn catchy songs.

It's now less than two weeks til the film festival. Watch me be excited....

Yup, that's pretty excited.

It's actually pretty shocking how little seen non-English speaking films are around Wellington. (Weird syntax there, sorry.) I mean, you'd think the success of Amelie would have opened some kind of flood gate. At least a puddle gate? Puddle flap?

Heaps of people go to the Wellington Film Festival, you'd think they'd go to the same kind of thing the rest of the year too.

My problem is laziness. I have a great deal of good intention but it's harder to go to Rialto when you can park in Reading so easily. Paramount only tends to be showing a couple of movies at a time and Embassy is rather fond of the sweeping blockbusters. (Not complaining here: Orlando, I mean Troy was awesome on the big screen.)

Plus it's harder to convince your friends to watch something that's 'foreign' or God forbid 'arty'...this all adds up to not much film festival type viewing in the rest of *my* year. What's everyone else's excuse?
