I don't mind my own blood usually. As a woman, being squeamish about blood is not an option! When I have had minor operations, I have been pretty interested in procedings. And I'm fairly comfortable reading about larger operations. But I Cfess, when i had the ceasers, I was definitely not watching. In fact, I really didn't want to know. So when the surgeon said to his student something like "And there's her liver", I didn't want to know. I mean, what were they doing up there anyway?
I have a different approach to c's injuries. Yesterday, he had also ripped his toenail off, and the hole above his eye was deep enough to see into. It made me feel quite QUITE ill. In the American sense of quite. As in very. Very ill.
Its obviously a different thing when it is your child. Sadly, I'm not squeamish about R's blood. More matter of fact.
I don't panic in these situations - the stress comes out later. A delayed reaction, which is really good, as I have the calm head, while R tends to get more excited at the time (slightly panicky even). I burst into tears later on if the stress is ongoing. And my neck locks up.

In other breaking news I had $5000 in my handbag today as part of the movement of money to buy a house. Its a big wad of money. Soon I will write another cheque for $10000, send it to the lawyer dude, and start jumping off the walls. Getting more excited now. Gonna buy a house!!!!!

Large amounts of cash make *my* skin crawl... well, when it's going away from me (or those I know), anyway.
Enormous piles of dosh towards me I have no problem with. ;)
