books, babies, bookcrossing.

Heroes is starting on Monday on TV3. Y’all should watch it, it’s good TV. And no, I’m not just saying that because I love superheroes.

I finished reading the Little House Laura Ingalls Wilder books. My favourite is On the Banks of Plum Creek I think, and then maybe Little Town on the Prairie? They are all good though, and then last night I found out that the visiting American at BookCrossing is Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Great-great-niece! Pretty cool.

I read another Robin Bill Willingham comic, and am now reading Ladies of Grace Adieu which is a short story collection by Susanna Clarke and is a sort of follow up to Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I’m just in the first story but it’s everything I loved about the novel so far, so recommended.

Just had lunch with my sister. She's due to have the baby some time in the next week, and is ready to have it now. It's quite amazing to think in just a couple of weeks there'll be this whole new person in my extended family and that it will have a name and a look and all.

I like being an aunty.

The New Zealand BookCrossing convention is coming up, and it's being held in Wellington. So, if you have nothing much to do on the weekend of he 16th, you might want to think about coming along.

Lots of lovely people will be meeting to talk about books, trade books and release books into the wild for random strangers to pick up. Should be fun!
