I saw something last night that shocked me. At the film festival screening of Kitchen Stories there was a couple in front of us making out. Now, I'm not against people over the age of 35 getting some action but these two were going for it: tongues, slurpy noises, blissful grins and snuggles and all.
It was pretty amazing, I mean I've never seen anyone over the age of teenager making out in a movie theatre before, and this was the freaking film festival!
You'd think you'd be safe from having to witness that kind of thing!
If Lee and I were more assertive people we would have made loud sucking noises behind them or told them to get a room or whatever, but we stuck to quiet bitching. The guy sitting on the other side of Lee had a laugh with us about it afterwards because these two kept it up *all through the movie*. Yeesh.
Then in Cafe India there was this table of full-on stereotypical football fans. They were loud, annnoying, drunk and singing! The only thing I can remember ever being sung at a restaurant I was in before are birthday related songs like 'happy birthday' or 'for he's a jolly good fellow'.
Those songs are OK because it's a special occasion and you know it will end soon. These guys were singing (or trying to) Country Roads, take me home' and the NZ national anthem. Man it was annoying because they were all big guys with loud deep voices.
On the plus side the food was very nice. Especially the Lamb Dhallcha.
