An extraordinary appeal to Americans from the Bush administration for money to help pay for the reconstruction of Iraq has raised only $600 (£337), The Observer has learnt. - guardian.co.uk
I could hardly believe it. Not $600 million, not $600 billion - $600 bucks. If a country-wide appeal by the Commander In Chief nets only chump change, I don't see how you could possibly put a good spin on it.
People are sick of giving their money to people in countries who hate the USA and who use the money to buy weapons and kill each other for fun. Donations for Katrina victims, on the other hand, are flooding in (excuse the pun).
Hey, this is my 400th entry!
A mate of my from Invers is coming up to stay with me this week. Yay! She is a really cool chick and I'm so looking forward to her coming. She should be here by Wednesday.

And any way I was also under the impression that commodity wise Iraq had a fortune in oil it could play with for the rebuilding effort. That once the insurgents got bored with playing silly buggers with some of the mad foreign folk that turned up to liberate them that they would go back to buying Mercs with the rest of the region.
But apparently not, the insurgents are serious, the US, UK and Coalition forces are there to stay, and it will end up being a body count that will determine when those young men and women from foreign lands will return home.
This is beginning to sound familiar to me, like it didn’t when the war began. I have seen this before, maybe in a different setting.
But then you leave a dictator in power, you lose, you oust him, you lose, you support others that oust him, and you lose.
I think isolation is the key. We all lock ourselves inside of our houses, no one on the streets. All around the world, no physical contact and interaction only through electronic means.
Its not a full proof plan, we will all starve to death or the death/birth rate imbalance gets to us. But I think it’s a small price to pay to end suffering.
There you go four degrees of separation with no links whatsoever. Someone come up with a coherent argument on why I am wrong.
Happy 400th :)
