proto-headache!

School has been good so far this week. It's nice not being a new teacher. Funniest thing happened today in my last period class. It is soo crazy I couldn't believe it. I have 15 year old children in one of my classes who did not realise that chickens are hens and roosters AND that hens lay eggs!!! I honestly kid you not. It was mad! MAD! The rest of the class couldn't believe it. It was really difficult trying to explain it to them. They were just not getting it. It was really just two kids. They both seemed to have the idea that chickens and hens are different species of animals. Seriously. I am aghast. How can I teach them Chem, Phys and Bio if they don't even know that hens and roosters are chickens? I suspect with some difficulty.

In other news, two of my bestest friends got engaged on Waitangi Day. They were on holiday (in Leigh) when he popped the question. It was their 6 year anniversary! So Congrats to Tash and the Patch!

Today is my wonderful sister Puggle's Birthday! Feel free to comment fabulous birthday wishes to her on her LJ account. I love you Muggle!

I was virtuous today and went to the gym at school afterschool. I only did 30 minutes, but considering the weather that was heaps! I've also picked stuff to give up for Lent. I never have before and I'm wouldn't define myself as even vaguely christian, but I thought I'd give it a go. Beau says that nowadays the Catholic church is more about doing extra good things than it is taking away other things, but anyway, I've decided to give up fizzy drinks and chips for Lent. By chips I mean hot chips as well and chippies. Sugoi! I don't know if I'll manage it but I'll try.

oh yeah, the name of this post is due to the lack of sleep I've been getting. Also,I was told I could stay at my aunt and uncle's Bach on the weekend, but, they've doubled booked and since the other person had asked earlier today they get it. Nevermind. I'm really keen to get away this weekend and spend some time with just Beau, but I guess it will have to be constrained to a kapiti-day-trip or something.
