I've been frequenting music gear shops recently looking for new gear to play bass though, and I've been noticing a high percentage of female persons with instruments and wattage. Really nice to see a sea change in this, as I remember being an odity when I started 10 years ago.
Me and her: *walk down road in morning to work*
Her: *mildly annoying thing*
Me: *doesn't notice*
Her: *more mildly annoying thing*
Me: *doesn't care at all*
Her: *continues mildly annoying thing*
Me: *suddenly irritated by annoying thing beyond all reason* "Stop the annoying thing right now or I'll kill _everybody_!"
Her: *stops annoying thing and starts laughing a lot*
Me: "I love that you understood what I meant." *grins*
I was intrigued to note the miners clocked out. Presumably the company *will* pay them overtime for the 2 weeks spent in the mine.
Following an odd conversation in which me an a coworker started to seriously consider how we each could make a parachute out of the materials on our floor, I'm going to start recommending extreme teambuilding to all my future managers.
There is something very bonding about discussing what the best way of getting carpet off the floor would be. A sort of extreme problem solving experience.
