cool things about modernity

ok, so this list could be really long, but well, right now I'm completely taken with the idea of being able to listen to Kim Hill while sitting at my desk in Ipswich. Yup, www.radionz.co.nz has bits of the last week on file.

Of course the quality means I can't cope with more than about 20 minutes, but I'm not at all sure I care.

Part 1 of 8 till noon (Kim Hill's show) has a brilliant interview with someone in Cuba. Apparently they are being massively disadvantaged by trade embargos imposed by the USA - policy which has been officially and repeatedly condemned by the United Nations. Rogue State anyone?
