Happy Children's Day! Happy All Hallow's Eve!
Last night I went to Rachel and Al's party as a Gothic doll. I think I looked cool. I might try and upload some pics onto photobucket and link to 'em in my livejournal. If I can be bothered. I had fun at the party. I got to talk to Will which doesn't happen much. I caught up with a bunch of people and we talked about the American election and sexy ladies in films and Mupplephone.*
Lots of yummy candy too. Mmmmm candy.
Also yesterday I had Yum Cha which was porklicious and nummy. Let me once more sing "I love Coconut Buns!" Then I went shopping with Evie and bought cool cute things. There's a new shop full of cutey cheap stuff along Manners Mall and I got cool hair ties. I got Rachel a cat dressed as a pink witch at Morning Glory. Hooray! I kinda wanted it for myself but I gave it away anyway. I might yet go and buy myself a Tokyo-a-Gogo Bratz doll. They're at Toyworld for $40 *right now*.
On Friday night I saw Coppelia which was wonderful. It is such a happy-happy story, and very funny. Lots of OTT arm movements and facial expressions to convey speaking and arguing. Wonderful. I loved the costumes too. Must own sparkly blue tutu. Jon Trimmer was Dr Coppelius and he was very very good, although I felt pretty bad for him. I mean Ok, he was a bit evil and tried to kill the main guy...but he thougt all his dreams had come true and he was really happy. And of course they hadn't come true and it was just Swanhilde playing a trick.
Anyway. It was a fantastic ballet AND next year they are putting on the ballet of Dracula again! This is very exciting. The last time I saw Dracula was like, four years ago and it was wonderful and ever since I have wanted to see it again. I have wanted to rewatch it like a DVD or something. but I couldn't because hello! Ballet! But they're putting it on again in July so I am totally gonna go and I urge all of you who like the story of Dracula to go as well. It's a truly awesome ballet and not too 'dancing for no reason'. It follows the story very closely and is very dark and gothic and spooky.
Anyway, I'll try and organise a group closer to the time.
I want a Bratz doll.
*Mupplephone is my mythic fourth child. She has social problems.
Lee brought home a donkey!
Well, not really. He actually brought home new ink cartridges for my printer. Squeee! I can print photos again!
More scrapbooking has already occured. I did a funksome teen girl squad page which is white and I put blue lines on it with a ruler to look like refill. I am soooo L337!
I love to print photos. Squee! Must now acquire more photos so that I can print them. Digital cameras rock.
Tomorrow is Hairy Maclary's 21st birthday. Lynley Dodd will be reading stories at Wgtn city library (I think....). Not sure if Hairy will be doing a yard glass and dancing til dawn, though.
Have to have a smear test in 20 minutes. Yuk yuk yuk. Of all the weird uncomfortable things to have happen. AND I have to pay for the privilege. Yuk.
On the plus side, going to Coppelia tonight and my beloved Yum Cha tomorrow morning. Then shopping with Evie and Rachel's Halloween party tomorrow night. Roll on 5.30!
I am reading Snow White Blood Red which is a collection of fairytales for adults on loan from Zephfi. I am loving it, as expected.
I read Dark by Penelope Todd which is the sequel to Watermark which I read a while back. Spooky, urgent reading. Liked it a lot, but can't imagine re reading.
Looked up on some old website friends. Eric conveys an emotion is still funny, and he has a bunch more emotions since I last looked! Hooray!
More weird is not proud which is what I was addicted to for ages then abruptly got sick of. Read through the sloth ones for gross out stuff.
My only new friend is Making Fiends courtesy of Sok. Lots of cutesy silly spooky cartoons. Watch 'em when you've got a bit of time and it's OK to listen to singing and creaky monster noises.
I woke up this morning and I dunno, felt kinda absorbent. I haven't moved all day but that's par for the course I guess. The guy next to me has grown *again*. I don't know how he does it. I just don't have enough motivation I gues.
I wish something really yummy would waft through me. The storm last night should be creating some good currents. Sometimes I wish I was proactive enough to actually obtain food for myself, but then I get distracted by a fish or something. I guess that's my problem, I just don't have any kind of attention span, I can't keep ideas long enough to think them through.
Yeesh, this entry is depressing me. I guess I'll write some more later, if I can be bothered.
Yeah, so I was wondering just how boring a sponge's diary would be. Now we all know. Thanks to Seraph for some weird wedding reception conversationm without you I would never have blogged from a sponge's point of view.
Tomorrow: Discus Chicken!
My hayfever is trying to kill me.
Yesterday's wedding was a bit on the disappointing side. The ceremony was lovely and everyone looked happy and fantastic, but it was one of those "6 hours to wait while the wedding party have photos taken and then eventually we'll serve you dinner" things. Yeesh.
Thankfully Seraph's friends lived nearby so we toodled over to their place where we could *all* sit down and drink alcohol. Oh yeah, it was a dry wedding. Fizzy drinks and juice only. This is a brave move in New Zealand. They had a very good reason for doing it, not just cutting costs, but apparently not everyone knew beforehand that it was going to be alcohol-free. Yeah, so bitterness. I was more bitter about the mediocre food.
It was very pretty and happy-making though and I'm glad I went. Like y'all know I love weddings so...and there were many funny and cool/geeky people to talk to.
Also this weekend J came down from Ackld to house hunt and stay with us, which was lovely. There was socialisation at Chelle and Jase's and that was great fun. The bean farming game is called Bohnanza and is a mere $40 from the board game shop. Awesome fun it is too, even though I have never ever won it.
Today we slept in reeeal late and then Chelle and Jase dropped by to farm some more beans. Then this afternoon we went over to Seraph's house and played 'Modern Art' (who knew bidding for fake art with your friends would be so hilarious?) and 'Amun Re' again. Lee won both games, which is a little sucky for everyone else. Lee says sarcastically "I'm SO sorry!"
We tried to play "St Petersberg" which was too complicated, so Seraph's gonna read the rules and stuff and we'll try and play it another time.
I like Amun Re but my complete lack of strategic thinking bit me again. Like I had a strategy that should have worked, but didn't. I guess everyone else's just worked better huh?
Dreamed about bell dancing a pokemon-themed dance this morning. I blame silly wedding conversations about how snorks are the offspring of a smurf and a fish. Ewwwww!
This may be the best first day back at work ever. I have a two hour storytelling training session this afternoon!
So I came into work...worked most of the morning, had an early lunch break, then in an hour I'm off training. I'll get another hour's worth done this afternoon and then it's home-time!
Hen's night tonight for L, which will be interesting since I have no money. Hooray for credit cards, eh? L is getting married on Sunday, and I don't know what I'll wear if it's a cold day. Those interview pants of my sister's I guess. Something on top too.
So: the holiday.
Drove up on Sunday with a sushi lunch from J'ville mall. Bought honey mead and strawberry wine from Lindale, had ice cream, etc.
My parents like Firefly which is not very surprising since my Dad loves sci-fi stuff and my Mum enjoyed Buffy. We got half the series watched, not the whole lot though due to my parents' lack of staying-up-later-than-9pm stamina.
Also watched Holes which is a very good interpretation of an awesome book. Lee hasn't read the book and found some things lacked proper explanation, but I sorted it out for him with my book-reader knowledge.
Day tripped to Taupo and we both got new books and new pants. Plus the new Empire magazine, happy happy. Both Lee and my Dad read and enjoyed Mortal Engines so Lee didn't mind buying and then reading the sequel. I read part of the Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde which is terribly silly but highly literary. I may have to buy it since I had to return it to the library today and I suspect I want to know what happens. I am now reading Princess Diaries number 6.
On Tuesday we drove to Hamilton and back which turned out to be three hours worth each way. Ouch. I don't much like driving in the dark and unfamiliar unlit open road farmland is pretty intimidating. I was in a kind of trance when we returned and my legs had no strength in them when I got out of the car. I was pretty convinced we'd die so I am very happy we didn't.
Hamilton public gardens are awesome. You must go and visit them. Putararu has a very good scrapbooking shop with less than helpful staff.
Wednesday was board games, scrapbooking galore (5 pages!), Firefly watching and boiling ourselves in the Tokaanu hotpools. Sooooo good!
Drove back yesterday and it was fine. Lee nearly killed us by overtaking one time but mostly we were marvelling at the foolhardy middle aged men in flash cars like BMWs overtaking long trucks while another truck is barrelling towards them the other way. Great stuff.
Watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night which was great but upsetting and I don't think I'll watch it again. Lee and I figured out the time stuff and what order everything actually happened in, but we didn't predict any of the polt twists or the eventual outcome. It was lovely but I had to have a comfort bath after it and like I say, I won't watch it again.
Now you are all updated.
I am screechy from too much driving. Holiday was fun, tempted to move into Pukawa for good, but can't stand the idea of Turangi being the closest thing that even remotely ressembles a town.
Some things:
A tui had built a nest in a fern tree right outside the kitchen window.
My parents like Firefly a lot.
Lee can be ruthless with the winning Settlers.
Driving to Hamilton and back from Pukawa in the same day is a bad idea.
Hamilton botanic gardens are the awesome. I want to move into the Italian Rennassaince garden.
Taupo cafes are waaaaaaay overpriced, but some serve nummy mango sorbet.
It might also have something to do with my wrist hurting...
I had so much fun at my party and I just want to thank all my lovely friends who attended. I got some truly awesome presents, which I will list in no particular order:
Gorgeous elf woman painted figure from Rachel. She has pink fishnets on! (The figure not the Rachel, I can't see Rachel right now so I have no idea what she's wearing.)
Magnetic poetry kits of Shakespeare words and Artist words. I have wanted my own set of magentic poetry since forever, so it's super-cool to have two contrasting but complimentary theme sets. Thanks to Sass and Emba!
All Chobits all the time from Giffy, Chi plushie, chii tshirt, Chobits mangas 1 and 2 and some other anime posters. Thanks! So cool! I love my Chi plushie.
Heavy hexagon full of Chinese Zodiac painted rocks in the manner of Fruits Basket. I really love to get things that people have made for me. It's so cool, and the onigiri one is so cute. Ooooooh go check if it has a plum in it's back. No, never mind.
Art of Belly dancing box kit, ouchy coolness bag and "Princess Rock" tshirt from Zephfi. Thanks doll, you looked so cute last night!
Uhmmmmmm also books and chocolates and cool pegs and yummy tea and...and Cowboy Bebop movie DVD and...
Matt and Debbie gave me Storyteller on DVD which I have literally wanted to own since there have been DVDs. I am so looking forward to watching them! Also a Matt designed tshirt which says "L33T Librarian" which is another super-cool made just for me present that I am going to wear at work and confuse my workmates with. (Except for Star, who was there last night and understands these things).
Ok, so I didn't list all my presents. You were getting bored anyway.
My dress was properly admired but unfortunately the castle cake came out looking rather munted. It tasted alright though so I guess it was still a success. Margie and Sok gave me a cake made of cupcakes which was super-cool and yummy with rich frosting. It had chocolate mice and a my little pony hidden inside! Way cool.
I was also impressed with the costume levels. Not quite as many as last year but a very high quality I thought. Took a bunch of didgital pictures. Many women in red and black. Hooray!
What else? I may have been peer pressured into dying my hair black since everyone loved the black wig on me. I got a weird hed spinning/throbbing pain sensation at one point in the night but some time on the coolness of the deck and sitting down drinking water put that off. I was standing in a conversation reeling and thinking "I can't pass out in the middle of my own party, that's just too too drama queen!"
Got to sleep 2am ish, but woke up at 7.30 cause of sun streaming in and happy from the party making me kind of hyper. Also my body is aching a bit, especially my right wrist. Can't think what I did to it...maybe it's a delayed sewing OOS thing.
Anyway, we're going away today. I'll be back on Thursday, no blogging til then. Comment away though, since I will read them when I return.
Ok. I have made and sewn in the drapes, I have attatched the skirt to the bodice (nerve racking...so much material gathered in to a small place!
I have just tried it on and it looks like a dress alright! Now, for the zip and then it's off to Lee's parents tonight for presents, dinner and help with the hemming!
Hooray hooray!
Suspect might need crinoline for full effect though.
Have just finished Bridget Jones: the Edge of Reason. Was v.g. although slightly bizarre in places. Lovely happy ending.
Yesterday I ended up dressing like a crazed librarian, which is entirely appropriate. Had a lovely shopping/ art gallery expotition with Phreq which included lunch at Purple Onion. Yum. Lack of pregathered black lace in Wellington v. disappointing but regular lace obtained. Also birthday presents to self: colour changing rubber duckie, bizarre jellyfish yo-yo from the met shop and a new wig which I am disappointed with. (Think it is pre owned....)
Sewing completed: bodice of dress assembled, sleeves created and sewn to bodice. Now I have a very elegant top that Lee was quite taken with.
Still to do: Make drapes and attatch, attatch top to skirt, put in zip, hem skirt, add embellishments as needed.
Plus clean house, baking, etc.
Dinner at Zico's after laser force was lovely. Presents recieved were also lovely. Especially excited about Kangaroo meat jerkey, which is both repellant and enticing. I will have to work up to eating that. Actually, might be good for long car trip on Sunday.
Right, will now check livejournal then get to work. Thanks for all the lovely birthday messages, I feel very happy.
Today I have been on this Earth a quarter century. Go team me!
Just one present today: Firefly Dvds! Hooray! Thanks Lee! (Ok so I had foolish dreams about getting a ring, but I knew they were super-unlikely. I did ask for Firefly so, yay!)
Meeting Phreq in an hour for shopping and art gallery going and lunch and stuff. Can't decide what to wear.
Last night I got an unpexpected, wonderful, hilarious *and* useful early birthday present. Thanks so much Tia! You rock!
I got three pairs of weird-ass bad-English socks and Hello Kitty as little red riding hood stickers and notebook. Kawaii! I am very happy with my socks, especially the bright red toe socks that say "I am passenger." So, early birthday present goodness makes me happy.
The gamer boyz plus some extras came over last night and we played Svend's ticklish romp game. I've played before as Teddy but last night I tried out being Jasmine. In hindsight I may have been a bit cruel and fickle as regards Le Shadow Magnifique, but then I remember that the character of Jasmine is inherently heartless, cruel and fickle. So...although I feel bad, she doesn't so it's OK.
Mostly the problem was that I knew how Teddy won her in the last game I played and none of the boys laid it on as thick, so Jasmine was unimpressed. Out of character information is irrelevant in this game as everyone knows what everyone else is doing.
anyway, there were some awesome quotes had, which I will now share:
Svend: Horses sweat, Gentlemen perspider and Ladies drool.
Fishface trying to make Le Shadow Magnifique look bad: Most of this was done by the thug and dangerous vigilante.....
After Jasmine and Prudence have been taken out to the pistol club:
Lady Cecilia: did you meet any nice men?
Prudence: No but I shot some.
Prudence: Do poets skulk?
Fishface: No, we wuther.
Fishface: I felt inspired to create you a mini epic. A mepic if you will.
Note sent to Fishface following his pummeling and rescuing by Shadow from Jasmine: Terribly sorry to hear about your concussion. Did Le Shadow Magnifique mention me?
~
Other people said other funny things, but I was too busy being proper, cruel and adventurous to note them all down.
Prudence was played by first timer Star, who I am very proud of.
I really hate motor racing. So, if it is one of your big passions I'd advise you to ignore this post. I am going to rant about how much I hate it and why. Starting.........now. I am using subheadings to help order my rant.
Waste of Materials.
Motor racing wastes irreplaceable materials. Oil is a limited resource. We all know this on some level, but we use it like it's going out of fashion. Motor racing is like the epitome of using oil like it's going out of fashion. They use this fossil fuel that people fight wars over to, uh, drive round in circles very fast.
Pollution.
Fossil fuels create pollutants when burned. We all know this, so should theoretically be inventing electric cars, using public transport, cycling, etc. So...isn't it pretty stupid to be using them to race? Couldn't they race dogs or bicycles or run on their own damn feet?
I know why they don't, I know everyone gets very excited when cars drive fast but do you see my point? Our ozone hole is lovely and big and I don't think the point is to get it as big as possible as fast as we can.
Waste of money.
A lot of the time really fast cars crash. We've all seen pictures of these cars smashing and crashing and incinerating. I can't help but think all that money to make that car, all the people time and work and resources and metal and everything...and it ends up scrap metal after one race?
This is extremely wasteful and sucky and leads me onto....
Waste of human life.
Lots of people die in motor racing. The faster you go the bigger the mess, right?
I have the skirt part of the dress mostly done. It's sewn up and gathered around the top...it needs hemming (it's miles too long for me) and obviously it needs to be attached to the bodice.
I have obtained advice about using iron-on interfacing. (Pretty obvious really, just iron it on with no steam, but you don't want to take these things for granted...) and as I said earlier, everything is cut out and ready to go. I even drew darts on with taylor's chalk Giffy left with me after Azumanga Daioh cosplay. So more or less ready to start making the bodice.
I am taking a neck-friendly break which is actually not that neck friendly. I did have ice cream though, delicious mint choc-chip.
Hurrah! Dress creating is progressing rather well. More updates throughout the week as I get closer to being able to wearing it on Saturday. (Deadline: Birthday Party. The new not-very-exciting blog reality TV show.)
Also, soon I shall make a lovely long entry that sparks debate and stuff about Why I Hate Motor Racing. Bathurst was on yesterday, but I was distracted by real world interactions. I will not apologise. My social meter needs attending you know.*
*Geeky sims reference.
Friday night: cheap drunk on one wine and no dinner. Fun night with lots of girls and one Lee, what was up with that? Like everyone else had decided to leave the boys at home but no-one told me....dinner at Monsoon Poon divine.
Saturday: Family lunch for October birthdays. Lovely presents and experimental vegetarian cooking. Then Wimbledon in the evening. I liked it, but if you've seen Four Weddings, Notting Hill, Love Actually, etc there will be no surprises. I like Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst and Lee likes sports movies so we were both happy. Specially as we saw it for free with movie vouchers!
Sunday: food shopping, Sok's mum briefly, spotlight with HP and Sass then a long afternoon just chatting while I cut out my dress. It goes much quicker when there's an interesting conversation going on and I didn't notice how sore my neck was until I stopped. Then Seraph's for dinner and a new game (something egyptian, can't remember the actual name....) which was very fun, and Lee won by a landslide.
Monday morning: nightmare about town full of robot people and a man who moves in. They slowly turn him into a robot by operating on him at night and removing his organs one at a time, replacing them with mechanics. Upsetting start to the week, but it's a short week and my birthday on Thursday so I remain a bit optimistic.
I feel flurpy today but better than the drainpression I felt yesterday. Got enough sleep last night and it seems to have helped.
I am nearly finished reading Mortal Engines and it is a good book. One set waaaaaaaay in the future when cities move around on tractions. It's Municipal Darwinism as big cities eat smaller towns.
My chest is sore, I think it is neck related.
I have a wiggles song in my head because L used it in Storytime this morning.
Sunny day. At lunchtime I must feed myself and the car.
Iona's collecting words and punctuation. It makes me think of silly words, like spork.
I saw Evita last night. It was wonderful. It was funny and beautiful and I cried at the start (funeral procession) but not at the end, when she was actually dying. I thought the actor playing Evita was very good BUT she got a bit screechy when she wanted to be loud or put a lot of emphasis on the lines.
It's awful to compare her with Madonna in the movie because hello? Studios, but it's also kind of inevitable. I mean some of my favourite lines were screechafied last night and Madonna does them so well. Anyway, apart from the few screeches she was lovely and good. Peron was also great, but Che was the best. He's the everyman type narrator guy and an awesome character. The guy playing him was fantastic. Sill accents and funky dancing and attitude galore.
I loved it. It was awesome. Go and see it.
Plus, dinner at Monsoon Poon again. I had Indo-Chinese fried fish which was even better than I remembered. Dad had Phillipines style pork which was very nice and there was also mee goreng and phoenix-and-dragon. Lovely.
Darcy: Take these ladies...and their sister into the hall.
Alice: Lily hasn't changed much since I last saw her
Elsbeth: No, not much
Patience: Did you not last see her when she was four?
Elsbeth: Darcy has a sister?
Patience: Yes, we are on a mission of charity
E: I thought visiting him was charity enough.
Patience to Alice (who lives in the city) about the declining state of city society:
P: To a harlot, a den of sin is ordinary.
Elsbeth, on Darcy: I didn't notice how dashing he was when I was screaming at him...
Lily: and while I was listening to the sermon on Ephesians chapter 2 about something ot other I certainly didn't get distracted by watching the regiment.
Lily: I'm sorry I called you beastly and a horrid man.
Darcy on Patience's ordinary expression: I feared by Patience's terrified expression the worst had occured! It is a face of horror!
Alice, matchmaking: I believe there is a swing seat out the back....
Patience, perplexed: The vicar has never asked me to meet him at the swing set before.
Last night's playtest of the Jane Austen game went very well. There was much hilarity and nastiness. I have a bunch of funny quotes which I might put up later if'n you're interested.
Got some good feedback on how it ran too. Then Svend scared me by saying more or less "of course it's going to run well with such awesome players" which made me a little worried about running it in a Kapcon situation with unknown players....myeah. It'll pass. I want to run it at Kapcon.
Seraph and Hix met Matt and Debz which was all good in a 'roleplayers meet other roleplayers' kind of way and now they all have something to talk about at my birthday party.
Going to Evita tonight, so I can't get started on my dress yet. The weekend awaits!
I watched that Mistresses program last night to wind down after the crazy game. It was about lying and how to tell if your partner is lying so I suspect the target audience has changed a bit. Next week's one is about revenge! Awesome.
I haven't eaten enough today. My stomach is complaining but I'm putting off taking my break so that the afternoon goes quicker. It makes sense to me OK?
I spent my lunch hour buying birthday presents which is why I haven't eaten enough. My phone battery died so I can't text Giffy about going to Coppelia on Friday 29th October.
Last night's sewing went well. I was able to sort out the sewing machine and with a bit of frustration got the bodice together. Next is sleeves, but I actually want to start on the proper dress. I am impatient now that I see how easy it will be.
List of things I need for my birthday dress: interfacing
~ thin leather strap/cord/lacing...I'm thinking about 1cm wide, anyone know where I could get that? I may make my own out of PVC. I need about a metre's worth.
~black lace? I kinda want some but I'm scared it'll look tacky. Does black lace look tacky all the time?
Yesterday I was mucho productivo.
I practised L33t cake decorating and produced a small slightly mouldy looking castle. It was a huge success visually but Lee declared the frosting too rich. I am inclined to agree after I couldn't finish a slice this morning. So: I know I can make a castle out of cake, I just need a better type of icing. Might try it again with packet white icing.
I practised my not-so-L33t sewing skills. Actually the sewing went fine. I am making a pink and green shiny dragon top which is really a practise run for my birthday dress. After I got very frustrated with the slippery ribbon-ness my sewing machine decided that the last thing I should be doing is sewing facing for my shiny green and pink dragon top.
It went "Har! I eat your thread! I grind the fabric! I take my revenge!" Normally I can sope with this but I had already been sitting on the floor looking down and fussing with pattern pieces and ribbon bits and this is all bad for my neck. My neck said "You injured me, remember? It felt like this!" Then I couldn't get the bobbin holder bits to fit in right and I gave up and rested my neck in a very frustrated state of mind.
Tonight: Round two!
Actually, tonight I must finish writing L33t Jane Austen roleplaying game. Then sewing.
Yesterday was a good day. I didn't think at all and that is good.
Yum Cha with my family was great and we got our digital camera from my sister. It's all tiny and stuff, but heavy. Takes niiiiice pictures. I also got some early birthday presents including long purple stripey socks (yay yay yay!).
I didn't overindulge so much on the Yum Cha so didn't feel too too sick afterwards. I even managed to sneak away two coconut buns for delayed delight.
Roleplaying at Luke and Sam's turned out to be Inpectres, which was fun but not Petrova-level fun. We also watched a bit of Abenobashi and I borrowed the next two dvds so Lee and I can get up to speed. Then Matt and Debz came over to retrieve their DVD (Devil's Backbone) and we watched the second episode of Azumanga Daioh. Then I played Sims2 while Lee was out at Alien Vs Predator.
My sims couple have had a baby now and she is a toddler. It is quite an improvement on the first game but I wish the life-span ran slower. My sims are going to become elderly quite soon and aren't really achieving their goals fast enough. I guess it does make it more like a 'proper game'...but why change something so popular? I could also wish for more clothes and furniture, but I guess downloadable user-created stuff is on its way already.
After the movie Chelle and Jase hung out with us and there was lots of talking. This made me happy. Today I am going to sew things.
I guess the problems are of the kind that shouldn't make me cry.
Tell that to my tear ducts.
Last night Lee and I had a talk about big things and I realised how sucky my attempts to achieve the 'big goals' are. I mean, I totally don't get my dream job and the only alternative I can think of is to move into the National Library children's collection and just live in the stacks.
I have a partner who won't commit to me in a formal (more to the point, BINDING) way, and we own a nice apartment in the suckiest building ever. I mean really, how many Body corporates increase their yearly fees so that they can take someone to court three times!?! (The third is coming up after they lost twice.) Plus, I have no cat.
On the up side I am getting older in a couple of weeks and that means presents. Tomorrow I get Yum Cha and digital camera and family time, but I'm having trouble getting up enthusiasm for anything else. I might pike on things on the weekend so I can work on my birthday dress. Maybe. I don't know. I just kind of want to stay home and wallow and be a kind of Sims2 playing slipper wearing hermit. But I want Coconut buns too.
I cried a lot last night. Today I am in the grey zone. Grumpy but outwardly cheerful to the customers.
Yesterday morning I dreamed I was one of the Olsen twins. I'm not sure which one I was. Tomorrow night people are seeing Alien vs Predator. I am not in the least tempted to go. I want to see Wimbledon....
