For some time Lee and I have enjoyed going out for brunch. The last couple of months we've been doing it even more.
I thought I could do some wee reviews of the cafes we've been to...but I'd rather spent that time writing my novel (now past 20,000 words! Thanks Kiwinowrimo!) so here's a tiny wee samplette of what I'd say if I had the time:
Olive cafe: Lee loved the mocchachino. I liked the little teacups and the T-leaf red vanilla and raspberry tea. Food was tasty, good.
Roxy cafe: my current favourite, they do awesome poached eggs, great hash browns, bacon. Tea a little on the stingy side with a small teapot (T-leaf tea), but hot chocolate is good: heaps of foam. Lunch food also yum.
Sweet Mother's Kitchen: awesome mismatched vintage teacups make the t-leaf tea taste even better. Breakfast burritos, pancakes, poached eggs on ciabatta delish. Love it here.
Finc: a bit disappointing. Hot chocolate started out promising with real chocolate on top but just tasted like hot milk. Lee's blueberry pancakes tasteless. My poached eggs alright but served with two small pieces of rock hard ciabatta. Both our meals sat in our tummies like wet concrete and I have a funny taste in my mouth.
So yeah. We went to finc today and might not bother going back.
PoF: DC comics
CO: stuff done must get.
