Drawbacks to having an interview in town.
1. I get nervous beforehand which leads to digestive pyrotechnics.
2. Afterwards, I am filled with confusion and self-doubt about my performance in the interview. This leads directly to shopping.
3. Shops that have sales on.
4. Shops that have new stock, of the vintage 80’s tshirt variety. I managed to only buy the red Supergirl-Wonder Woman-Catwoman “Ladies Night” thsirt, but I keep thinking about the pale blue Care Bears one. I keep thinking about it! $25 Jay Jays.
5. Shops that stock the bag I’ve wanted ever since Zephfi got that green one from Equip. It’s the same sort of shape, with pockets all over, and a dark chocolate fake leather and it’s soft to touch and just scrummy. $30 from Glassons.
6. That terrible mindset that says “well, since I’m _already_ buying something from here, I may as well buy *some other thing*. $39 at Jay Jays. $6 at Glassons.
So, I’ll hear back about the interview next week, and I’m feeling pretty chill now. I’m loving my new tshirt, anyway.
In other news, I got a ‘what’s on in Wellington theatres’ flyer in the mail and they’re putting on at least two big shows I want to see. One is High School Musical. (Yes, I know, but I want to see how it translates to stage. And how they deal with the noise of the basketballs. And if they’re making all the kids do American accents.)
The other is Maui, legends of the demi god. Giffy and I saw a dress rehearsal of this a couple of years back and it’s super awesome. It’s a mixture of theatre, dance, acrobatics and aerobatics. It’s funny and awe-inspiring and I want to see it.
Anyone else keen?
