Info*bitch

It's funny to watch kids get up on the seat by the paid internet PC and try and get it to do stuff. Like, it won't do a goddam thing unless you type in a paid code, but the kid just sits there, types some things, refreshes the screen, sits and stares. Nothing happens.

Sure I could go over and tell the kid as much and point them towards an OPAC which has the kid's catalog on it, but I prefer to wallow in the irony. Kids are completely impatient about waiting for pages to load up, if it isn't instant, they walk away. But a computer that *should* work and doesn't? Well, they can stare at that screen for minutes and minutes before admitting defeat.

Adults will do the same thing, but they tend to actually read the sign that says 'paid internet' and move on pretty fast.
