I've found a new favourite place. Something to take the place that flyingpig.co.nz once held in my heart (before it went under for the last time)....fishpond.
Like New Zealand's very own Amazon. Awww, isn't it sweet? I really like having all the prices in NZ bucks, and they have a bunch of stuff you can't buy in the shops. (My first check is always Francesca Lia Block books, and lo! They are there!)
In a few months, when I have money again, I may even buy something from it!
Posted by jenni at March 7, 2005 04:16 PMUh, given the continuing plunge of the USD exchange rate you really should consider bulk-ordering from Amazon. Standard novels go for NZ$11.

I don't want to order from overseas. Just don't want to. Delivery normally takes longer. I have been considering it for some books, but then I saw them cheaper on fishpond.
Posted by: giffy at March 8, 2005 12:25 PMyeah, i'd save about $20-$30 buying 1st half season 5 angel from Amazon, but our multizone dvd-player is less reliable than our zone 4 one, so i figured overall the risk wasn't worth it
Posted by: Zephfi at March 8, 2005 03:34 PMAmazon? Hell no! The exchange rate may be awesome at the moment, but they tack on such a huge amount for postage it's really not worth it. Use Abebooks.com - searches a whole load of online shops for the cheapest price (including postage), and includes Amazon in its search anyway.
Delivery tends to be pretty quick anyway. I got something from the US in about 10 days recently!
