I was just thinking about the increasing levels of rudeness I am treated to at work. Mostly I've noticed that people say "WHAT?!" Instead of "oh really? What would that be for?" when I tell them they have money owing.
Just now it was all crystalized when I said "Hi" to someone and she responded with a "Eeeeyargh" noise. I have no idea what she thought she was saying possibly "Yeah" but it was definately "Eeeeyargh". I think she may be a vulture or possibly a skeksis from Dark Crystal.
Odd. Perhaps it is the hip new way of saying hello and I just don't know it. Must remember and try it out.
Finished re-watching Firefly last night. Now I can lend it out! I think the episodes at the 'end' (really the middle) of the series are not quite as strong. Lee was moaning all through them too, which was annoying. He doesn't seem to understand that while it is fun for him to make fun and point out all the plot holes, it makes my experience Less Fun. I have to keep reminding him.
My favourite episodes are Jaynestown, Shindig, Our Mrs Reynolds aaaaand Safe. I really like Simon although he is a big geek. Kaylee is the awesomest, and I can't get over how beautiful Inara is. (I don't think she's smug at all, I think she's gorgeous...)
Oooh so I finished reading Snow White, Blood Red and it's awesome and I want to keep it. I won't though, I'll give it back. There was just one story that was too upsetting I think it was called 'liytle Poucit" anyway, it was too disturbing. I loved the rest though and the Puss in Boots one was great.
I also have read Going Back which is a NZ young adult book by David Hill. It's about car accidents. Pretty grim reading but very well written. Hard to put down.
