My hayfever is trying to kill me.
Yesterday's wedding was a bit on the disappointing side. The ceremony was lovely and everyone looked happy and fantastic, but it was one of those "6 hours to wait while the wedding party have photos taken and then eventually we'll serve you dinner" things. Yeesh.
Thankfully Seraph's friends lived nearby so we toodled over to their place where we could *all* sit down and drink alcohol. Oh yeah, it was a dry wedding. Fizzy drinks and juice only. This is a brave move in New Zealand. They had a very good reason for doing it, not just cutting costs, but apparently not everyone knew beforehand that it was going to be alcohol-free. Yeah, so bitterness. I was more bitter about the mediocre food.
It was very pretty and happy-making though and I'm glad I went. Like y'all know I love weddings so...and there were many funny and cool/geeky people to talk to.
Also this weekend J came down from Ackld to house hunt and stay with us, which was lovely. There was socialisation at Chelle and Jase's and that was great fun. The bean farming game is called Bohnanza and is a mere $40 from the board game shop. Awesome fun it is too, even though I have never ever won it.
Today we slept in reeeal late and then Chelle and Jase dropped by to farm some more beans. Then this afternoon we went over to Seraph's house and played 'Modern Art' (who knew bidding for fake art with your friends would be so hilarious?) and 'Amun Re' again. Lee won both games, which is a little sucky for everyone else. Lee says sarcastically "I'm SO sorry!"
We tried to play "St Petersberg" which was too complicated, so Seraph's gonna read the rules and stuff and we'll try and play it another time.
I like Amun Re but my complete lack of strategic thinking bit me again. Like I had a strategy that should have worked, but didn't. I guess everyone else's just worked better huh?
Dreamed about bell dancing a pokemon-themed dance this morning. I blame silly wedding conversations about how snorks are the offspring of a smurf and a fish. Ewwwww!
