I still feel sleepy, but I don't feel like I'm dying.
I got a lovely sleep, went to be at like 9.20pm after a hot bath. I needed it as it was absolutely Freezing last night. Had Nando's for dinner, yum yum Barbeque sauce.
I read for a while and then went to sleep. Lee came in to check on me at 9.45 and gave me a huge fright. I got to sleep again at 10.30.
I woke up at 5.30 this morning because my lumbar support towel was too big and making my lower back sore instead of stopping it being sore. I kicked that towel out of bed, went back to sleep and woke up at the usual time (three minutes before the alarm) pain-free. Lovely.
It is a gorgeous sunny day and absolutely still. If it wasn't also extremely cold I'd be wishing for the beach.
I am reading Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre. It is extremely good. I have been telling people it is like a modern day Catcher in the Rye and it kind of is. Really it's just similar because it's told from first person in the dialect of the teenager.
It's about Vernon. After his best friend shoots a bunch of students at their high school and then kills himself people start looking at Vernon as if he helped do it. He is innocent but the community will believe anything they see on TV (including Vernon's mother). In essence this book is about how screwed up and corrupt America is. It is very well written and compelling. I love to say a book is compelling. It is compelling me to read it.
Give me a few more days and I'll tell you if the ending is good or not.
