How's Wednesday 6th August, 12.30pm?
Suggested venue: that place that used to be City Limits (between the Lido and Felix). I don't know what it's called now, but there's almost always plenty of seats. Other suggestions also welcome.
All stonesoupers, friends, and other bloggers welcome.
I've been researching good blog behaviour for my Guide to Stonesoup*, and found a couple of good posts y'all might be interested in:
Starting a Blog (With Moveable Type) (scroll down a bit to Hints 5 and 6, especially)
blog etiquette:
blogger to reader
blogger to blogger and
reader to blogger
* Actually called A Recipe for Stonesoup, I hope this'll be available shortly. It's not earthshattering. It just contains really basic instructions on how to do some blogging things.
A big HAPPY HOLIDAY to Kim, Stonesoup admin and all-round nice guy, who flies off into the great blue yonder tomorrow for five weeks (?) of travel and adventure (of the good, exciting-yet-manageable variety). Have fun and bring back photos, yeah? Or better yet, find an Internet connection and travel blog.
We'll try not to break everything anything in your absence.
Dear Stonesoupers
A few months ago, Fi, Giles and I did a three-part intra-blog thingummy in which we rewrote each other's pieces and then posted our own versions of the same piece on the same day. We called it Chinese Blogging (like Chinese Whispers) or Blogapalooza. It was fun, and we talked about doing it again but different.
And we've been talking about it ever since and what form it might take.
But in the meantime, I was wondering whether any other stonesoupers would be interested in a Stonesoup Blogapalooza? And today I had an idea for it:
We could do like an issue/parody of Cosmopolitan Magazine. So we could have one day where we all post a quiz or an article or fashion tips (or fashion photos) or an advice column or horoscopes or whatever, and here on Too Many Cooks we could have a table of contents. And we could easily open it up to non-stonesoupers, too, if we wanted.
Suggestions, expressions of interest, other ideas, counter offers, and gentle ridicule all welcome (although no-one's allowed to say, "And how exactly would this be any different from your usual blogging, Iona?" *grin*).
What do you reckon?
Welcome to Karen's new blog History has expired due to inactivity, now added to the homepage.
Yay, another one! :-)
By the way, I'm planning to write a brief, really basic newbie's guide to stonesoup covering the following:
Anything else I should include?
I'll post it here when it's done and you can all hassle me about the typos. ;-)
