support the Punk Pedaler!

A big shoutout to a friend of a friend who is doing the AIDS Life Cycle. Awesome! Iím quite jealous actually, but since itís in California I have a pretty good excuse not to do all that training. Sadly my cycling days are over so Iíll have to live vicariously through Brooklynne.

As if riding all the way from San Francisco to Los Angeles (thatís 545 miles folks) wasnít enough, her new bike just got stolen. And she has to raise a minimum of $2500 to participate. But you, dear reader, can help, by clicking over to her blog to make a donation. Iím gonna.

In other news the comet is still visible Ė just barely, and only with peripheral vision or binoculars. The whole peripheral vision thing is freaky. I mean, I understand it (itís to do with the retina having two kinds of cells, rods and cones. The rods are better at detecting contrast, and there are more rods at the periphery). But itís unnerving to be able to see something, out of the corner of your eye, and then every time you look at it itís gone. And itís so faint, no matter how you look at it. It makes me feel a bit sad and panicky Ė itís fading away and there is nothing I can do to stop it or bring it back. And weíll never see it again! Not in this incarnation anyway.

Iím on new medication, which makes me feel very out of it. Even typing makes my head spin.

Bummer about the medication. Hope it settles down soon.
