tools for professionals

I know this is probably just an example of a dumb process making a rare mistake, but it is just ... *so* ... microsoft.

I often feel that their software is attempting to make me travel from one province in Norway to another province in Norway via Newcastle on Tyne and Antwerp "because it's quicker".

Mind you, I often feel that way about standard corporate practice, so maybe microsoft are just getting closer to their customers...

Carla, I thought you might think this:

my friend Dillon's predictions for NZ politics over the coming year, interesting and amusing.

y'know, I'm not that surprised. i have a friend who habitually insists that there is no such thing as Sweden, that it's all a conspiracy (don't be silly! you say -- have YOU ever been, do you KNOW anyone who's been, do you EVEN know anyone FROM Sweden? he counters).
There's no argument, and then, bit by bit, things occasionally pop up in the media, that make you wonder....maybe he's right.
If Sweden doesn't exist, in the sense that you or I exist, then the map makes perfect sense. Doesn't it?

You gotta admit, though, that it'd be a hell of a trip...

well, yes. :) I particularly like the way you *start* by taking a ferry in the opposite direction from where you want to end up.
