Comments: Stop Thinking, You're Here To Teach

With reference to the education student, you haven't linked to the article (?) so it's hard to get more information. But from what you've said, I don't find it bizarre.

There is an argument that if there is reason to believe that someone would not administer the curriculum, and/or promote values that are largely deemed pernicious to the community (for example, holocaust denial), then they should not teach.

I can't imagine that someone who strongly believes in the ideas that he wrote his paper on could properly teach the liberal education policy that NY obviously has.

Im working on the difference between Liberalism and Conservatism being the willingness to be open to all possibilities.

So in my mind a liberal would embrace the right to corporal punishment and the right to oppose it.

Or maybe thats just sitting on the fence.

Sorry, here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/10/nyregion/10paddle.html

I dunno, ay. I think that there's a difference between writing an essay "If I Were King" and writing a job application. He got an A- for the essay.

What about Christians who become teachers? Are they vetted to make sure that they don't think non-Christian kiddies are going to Hell, or whether they abscribe to "Spoil The Rod"?
